WHY use an NZSDA member? Unlike some other trades, such as plumbing or electrical contractors, the signage industry is largely unregulated, with no form of registration necessary to comply with government regulations and best practice guidelines. Advances in technology mean that it is now possible to create a basic sign with a relatively small amount of knowledge, on a reasonably cheap computerised vinyl cutter or printer. Unfortunately, these two factors combine to create a situation where inexperienced, unknowledgeable people can present themselves as “signwriters” or “sign makers.” Or you can also buy off shore as there’s money to be saved apparently…
WHEN experience counts! A vast amount of knowledge and experience is required to become competent in the industry, from good design, through to manufacturing skills and media knowledge, as well as safe and correct installation methods. Be aware of assuming that because someone is in the business of making signs, that they know what they are doing – unfortunately, that may not be the case. All sign companies who are members of the NZSDA are vetted by their peers in the industry and must abide by the code of ethical good practice.
RESOURCES: NZSDA members have access to legal and informational resources made available by the Association, enabling them to run better, more professional organisations than might otherwise be the case.
NETWORK: Being a member of the NZSDA gives a company access to New Zealand’s biggest network of reputable sign companies, so if a sign needs to be installed, or a vehicle graphic needs applying anywhere in the country, your local member can quickly and easily arrange this through a quality company in the required location. We also add our own network of tried and tested team to this as well doubling our coverage.
PEACE of mind! In short, dealing with an NZSDA member gives you peace of mind that you are working with a nationwide accredited company using best industry practices and latest technologies with an assurance of quality workmanship.
